§ How we work in Trowbridge

30 Cavell Court, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 0HH.

Our office sits between the Town Bridge and St James's Church, in the conservation area at the heart of Trowbridge. It's where we scope projects, where suppliers drop samples, and where the finished-job folders live for every project we've completed.

Being based in the town we build in isn't decoration. It means shorter journeys, faster call-outs, and suppliers we've dealt with for years.

From our office we can be on site anywhere in BA14 within 10 minutes — Hilperton, Innox Park, Studley Green, Lower Studley, Trowle Common, the Drynham estate, or up toward Hilperton Marsh. We finish a job in Trowbridge most months of the year.

§ Trowbridge specifics

What we know about building here.

Every town has its quirks — planners, soil, period-property issues, common house types. Here's what matters in BA14.

A

Wiltshire Council planning

Generally pragmatic and predictable. Most PD applications go through cleanly if drawings are accurate. We submit certificates of lawfulness routinely. Conservation areas (the town centre, around St James's, and parts of Hilperton) need full planning regardless of size.

B

Common house stock

1930s semis around the Innox area, post-war pebbledash on the Drynham, Victorian terraces close to the centre, and modern executive estates on the western edge. Each generation has its own structural quirks — we've worked on all of them.

C

Soil & foundations

Mostly heavy clay across BA14. That means deeper foundations than sandy-soil areas — typically 1.0–1.2m strip footings rather than the 600mm minimum. We dig trial holes routinely.

D

Local supply chain

We have accounts with the main local merchants — Travis Perkins on West Ashton Road, Jewson Trowbridge, MKM, plus a network of specialist suppliers we've used for over a decade. Lead times for materials in BA14 are reliable.
